Heritage Apple Tart

    Heritage Apple Tart

"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him." — Psalm 34:8

A celebration of the harvest. Flaky, sweet, and simple, this tart honors the beauty of fruit and the goodness of the One who provides it.

    Ingredients

    • 4 large Honeycrisp or Granny Smith apples, thinly sliced
    • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
    • 1/4 cup apricot preserves (optional, for glaze)

    Instructions

    1. Prep Pastry: Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the puff pastry slightly and score a 1-inch border around the edge with a knife.
    2. Arrange: Toss apple slices with sugar and cinnamon. Arrange slices inside the border in overlapping rows or a spiral.
    3. Bake: Brush apples with melted butter. Bake for 20-25 mins until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
    4. Glaze: While warm, microwave preserves for 20 seconds and brush over the apples for a professional shine.
