
Heritage Apple Tart

A celebration of the harvest. Flaky, sweet, and simple, this tart honors the beauty of fruit and the goodness of the One who provides it.
Ingredients
- 4 large Honeycrisp or Granny Smith apples, thinly sliced
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup apricot preserves (optional, for glaze)
Instructions
- Prep Pastry: Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the puff pastry slightly and score a 1-inch border around the edge with a knife.
- Arrange: Toss apple slices with sugar and cinnamon. Arrange slices inside the border in overlapping rows or a spiral.
- Bake: Brush apples with melted butter. Bake for 20-25 mins until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Glaze: While warm, microwave preserves for 20 seconds and brush over the apples for a professional shine.
